To understand seroepidemiological patterns of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome, a nationwide survey collabolated with 14 clinics was carried out from 1989 to 1991.
Sera of 9,466 patients with acute febrile episodes in Korea were tested by indirect immunoflucrescent antibody test and the seroepidemiological analysis including sexual, age, seasonal and regional distributions were performed.
@ES The results were summarized as follows;
@EN 1. Seropositive rates of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome among the patients with acute febrile episodes were 10.6% in 1989, 12.8% 1990, and 10.2% in 1991.
2. Among the seropositives, male outnumbered female.
3. Most of the serpositives were over twenty years old.
4. The number of seropositvive cases increased from October and reached maximum at November and began to decrease gradually from December.
